Sunday in Haiti

It was a great day. We worshipped at Quisqueya Chapel. The Taubel Family sang. They were on one of the talent show. They were wonderful.

We spent a couple of hours at HIS Home for Children and I met the 2 girls that we are now sponsoring, Jocelene and Dachecka.

At 3 pm we met Kez and walked with her as she made her rounds in an impoverished area called the Ravine. We were also joined by the Taubels and the Williams family. Kez dealt with the medical needs of mostly young children, the rest of us entertained the chiildren by taking their photos and then letting them see themselves. Towards the end of the time in the Ravine,  I saw some pigs down in the creek  and snapped a photo. The situation became less picturesque when I realized that we would be fording the same creek. The resident children enjoyed the spectacle of the many Americans falling off the stepping stones into the sewage. Icrk!  Kez is a special person. She has a blog which you can google with key words of Kez & Angel Mission & Haiti.

So it's been another long but satisfying day in Haiti. Tomorrow we leave at dawn for Les Cayes where we will meet the folks at Nelly's House - a lunch program for school children in a small town.

This is Jocelene.

  1. Glad you made it safe and sound. Looks like you enjoyed the sewer stream. UGH!

We're doing fine here but it's gotten cold again. You're not missing anything weather-wise.
